In Raytheon’s GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps. Raytheon’s GNC Dept is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support the Capture Manager and Technical Director for Enabling Technology. This individual will leverage their broad engineering base in propulsion, airbreathing technology and high temperature materials to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders across DOD and DARPA. This position will highlight the successful candidate’s exceptional writing and presentation skills. This position is onsite in Tucson but enjoys a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off) and working with a highly collaborative team.
What You Will Do
- You will write and lead technical white papers, covering several areas of enabling technology
- You will leverage your understanding of the bid and proposal process to build effective proposal summary packages for engineering review and approval.
- Work with functional partners, suppliers and program management to submit comprehensive and compliant white papers and proposals.
- Prepare and present leadership reviews and gates, track progress and awards in ERPM and internal trackers
- You will travel for capture activities, customer meetings and presentations (Anticipated travel is 10%)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of propulsion and / or aerodynamics engineering experience
- Experience writing technical white papers
- Experience supporting bid and/or proposal process
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
