Compensation: $320,000.00 - $380,000.00 per year (Includes Base + Bonus + Incentive)

SUMMARY: As a member of the Erickson Health Medical Group (EHMG) leadership team, the VP/ Regional Medical Director actively participates in defining strategy and direction for medical services for Erickson Senior Living. This role includes development, implementation and oversight of programs that further excellence and best practices in geriatric medicine. The Regional Medical Director also provides direct supervision to the medical directors at their assigned campuses. In this regard, they provide guidance and oversight to the medical director and are responsible in partnership with the regional practice administrator for the successful performance of the medical centers they supervise. The goals for the regional medical director include achieving employee engagement, resident satisfaction, high quality outcomes, compliance and financial performance at the sites they oversee, in addition to contributing to the overall performance of EHMG and Erickson Senior Living. The role may be located at a campus and include medical director responsibilities for that Campus.
This leadership role also includes an active role in medical staff recruitment, clinical staff training, along with partnering with the practice administrator leadership and the MSO, and leading special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, directs and supervises all aspects of an assigned Medical Center and/or multiple Medical Centers in partnership with practice administration.
Provides administrative leadership, e.g., provider recruitment, training, new Medical Center start-up and special projects as assigned.
Supervises Physicians and other providers including but not limited to Podiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Mental Health Providers and Social Workers. Medical Directors of assigned campuses will report directly to the Regional Medical Director.
The Regional Medical Director will also work closely with ESL, regional and community leadership from all departments, particularly Ancillary Health, Erickson Advantage and Employee Health and Well-being.
To effectively lead the medical group, the regional medical director should have clinical and electronic medical record expertise across all domains of care.
The role may be located at a campus and include medical director responsibilities for that Campus.
Clinical activities may include but not be limited to:
- Conducting patient assessment, examinations and treats patients in a variety of settings.
- Ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
- Analyzing reports and findings of tests along with and diagnosing conditions.
- Attending patients in medical office, nursing home, assisted living or memory care.
- Administering or prescribes treatments and drugs.
- Coordinating care with outside physicians, rehab providers, other facilities, as necessary.
- Participating in activities to promote the growth of the practice.
- Communicating with patients, their families and other providers to achieve high quality care, including discussions on end of life issues.
- Provide call coverage on nights and weekends in role at local Community.
- Participating in quality assurance, peer review and other administrative activities.
- Documenting services provided in medical chart and for billing purposes.
- Working cooperatively and collaboratively with other physicians, nurses, medical assistants, administrative personnel and managers.
- Supervising and directing midlevel providers.
- Complying with all regulatory state and federal guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
