Description:
Set-Up and operate CNC machines in compliance with departmental procedures. The Set-Up Machinist must be capable of the essential set-up and operation of CNC Swiss lathe machines and automatic bar-feeders. Ability to read Blueprints, perform consistent visual inspections underneath the microscope, and perform visual inspections on equipment. Able to change worn-out or broken tools from the machines when needed. Works under moderate supervision.
Essential Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities
- Perform set-up on CNC Swiss machines.
- Perform moderate to complex operations of assigned machine(s), including start-up and shutdown. Load raw material into bar feeder and adjust the machine as needed.
- Keep machine running throughout shift while monitoring product quality through regular inspection intervals.
- Perform consistent visuals underneath the microscope and continuously inspect machines on various equipment.
- Troubleshoot and correct moderate to complex problems, obtaining assistance from Lead machinists and Management when needed. Replace assigned tooling as needed, i.e., drills, etc.
- Ensure all documentation is in order (part number, revision, etc.) and is kept at the workstation. Enter data on production documents regarding quantity produced, etc.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., safety glasses, non-slip shoes, etc.).
- Perform general housekeeping in work areas (cleaning surfaces, clean spills, etc.).
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Experience & Competencies
- Requires 3-5 years of related experience.
- Set-up experience with CNC Swiss Star machines.
- Familiarity with raw materials, cutting tool geometry, and related feeds and speeds.
- Good working experience with precision inspection equipment and methods (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, Keyence, Seebrez, etc.).
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required. College-level machining classes and formal CNC training preferred.

Compensation details: 32-35 Hourly Wage
