Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his/her assigned area
Maintains required core competencies.
Complies with set Policies and Procedures as well as the Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.)
Assists with patient admissions, transfers and discharge.
Provides Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care to includes, passing water, daily bed baths or daily shower, and morning oral hygiene, changing bed linens both unoccupied and occupied beds, cleaning overhead tables, straightening room snacks and other general care as needed.
Provides evening care to include: passing water back rub if necessary, bed baths, shower, oral hygiene, changing bed linens both unoccupied and occupied beds, cleaning overhead tables, straightening room evening snacks and other general care as needed.
Provides general nursing care such as positioning every two hours with documentation, transfers to chair or stretcher, lifting and turning patients, specialized equipment, bedpan, commode chair and ambulating patients.
Answers call lights anticipates patient needs makes frequent rounds.
Demonstrates the ability to perform procedures, ex; glucose monitoring, within the Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice.
Performs hourly rounding and reports patients’ complaints about pain immediately to licensed personnel.
Observes patients mental and physical conditions, reports change immediately to licensed personnel.
Optimizes patient safety to include but not limited to: bed alarms on, fall risk signage, TIPPS boards up to date and accurate, socks, gait belt use, and call light in place.
