Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Needed for Growing Community Clinic
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing culturally sensitive, effective and high quality mental health care to patients of the health center. The PMHNP is also responsible for providing medication evaluation, medication management, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy and case management services to clients, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential functions of the role include
- Patient Intake and assessment
- Provide patient education
- Provide integrated mental health services in the primary care setting
Required Qualifications & Licensure
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant professional experience as a PMHNP, working with a variety of mental health conditions.
- Current knowledge of drug and treatment protocols common to ambulatory care.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Electronic Health/Medical Record systems and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Current and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner License
- Board of Registered Nurses Certification Furnishing Number issued by California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current and unrestricted Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification by an accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Valid California Driver’s License, proof of auto liability insurance and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications- Doctorate in Nursing.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (may be required at some clinics).
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position. This position is also eligible for our annual incentive program bonus. If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer generous benefits and retirement plans.
