Manager, Enterprise Cyber Exercise Program

Capital One’s innovative Enterprise Cyber Exercise Program is seeking a Manager to work closely within our cyber organization, the wider enterprise, and across the global financial services sector. The cyber exercise program supports Capital One’s ongoing readiness to protect customers and respond effectively to major incidents by designing a variety of operations and discussion-based exercises within Capital One, to include events with our senior most executives.
You will lead the full life-cycle of exercise activities (design, development, conduct, and evaluation). The result of these activities will focus on strengthening our incident response and coordination processes within Capital One as well as with public and private sector partners. The successful candidate will be distinguished by a passion for delivering exceptional cyber exercises, excellent communications skills, and a commitment to innovation in the exercise design arena.
Responsibilities and Competencies:
Lead end-to-end planning, scenario design, exercise conduct, and evaluation for both discussion and operations-based exercises to meet Capital One defined objectives.
Possesses strong communication skills capable of facilitating conversations that guide participants towards process gap identification and analysis in both no-fault exercise environments and real-world after action discussions.
Maintain strong working relationships with Cyber Operations & Intel, Cyber Information Security, and Business Risk Offices to plan and execute effective cyber exercises across the enterprise.
Work with associates from across the enterprise, with varied technical and non-technical backgrounds, to ensure exercise scenarios provide participants with applicable business impacts based on the current control environment.
Represent Capital One as a planning team member for regional, sector, and national level exercises for which Capital One will participate.
Assist in the development of programmatic documents, briefings or reports based on audience as a method of providing awareness to various parts of the Capital One organization on enterprise cyber exercise activities.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 2 years experience utilizing or employing the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Methodology
At least 2 years experience designing and conducting discussion and operations-based exercises (tabletops, drills, functional, and full-scale)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years experience with Jira & Confluence
5+ years direct exercise experience
5+ years of experience in incident response operations or supporting training for incident response
