Overview
The Marathon Pipe Line Buckeye Area operates and maintains more than 700 miles of liquids pipeline, two tank farms, multiple pipeline stations and a light product terminal. This position is for an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician located in East Sparta, OH. This position works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing electrical, and controls & instrumentation duties at multiple area facilities in support of 24/7/365 pipeline operations. The position also provides field support to various other Marathon Pipe Line LLC processes and departments.
The successful candidate will perform various duties including: maintenance and repair of medium voltage equipment, calibration and troubleshooting various transmitters and electronic devices, and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers. The candidate should have the ability to troubleshoot problems, work independently and also in a team environment. Travel, call-outs and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. For emergency response reasons, the successful candidate must be willing to reside within 45 minutes of the East Sparta pipeline station.
Responsibilities
Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration tasks in accordance with company and regulatory standards, and document in company work order system.
Respond to and resolve station alarms and communicate findings to appropriate parties
Generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks; coordinate and communicate maintenance activities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Associate’s degree in a related technical field is preferred
Previous electrical or instrumentation experience
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Electrical construction experience (ie. conduit fabrication and pulling wire) preferred but not required
Previous pipeline electrical and instrumentation experience is preferred
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
