Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Software Governance and Process Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and supporting the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This selected candidate will be responsible for Software Governance and Process Development for the Software Engineering organization and will report directly to the SDS Software Engineering Director. You will provide oversight and assistance to multiple business areas within the division portfolio to include Sentinel/GBSD, ICBM Sustainment and Advanced Programs.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Planning, risk management, project performance, addressing schedules, technical quality, and addressing technical or operational problems when necessary. Having frequent contact with equivalent level managers and programs to maintain and exceed health and performance for all programs.
- Ensure standard processes and procedures are developed in support of the SW Engineering teams.
- Represent SDS Software Engineering in division and program level industry standard certification and re-certification audits in support of Mission Assurance.
- Represent SDS Software Engineering in internal corporate audits in support of Mission Assurance.
- Review and approve documents and ensures compliance to released processes, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with Mission Assurance guidelines and procedures.
- Serve as the Software Engineering Product Owner for training, tools and processes as part of the SDS Enabling Organization.
- Manage team of Subject Matter Experts for development and delivery of Division Level and Program Specific documentation model based standard processes and procedures.
- Act as the process Subject Matter Expert for the SDS Software Engineering Directorate.
- Attend program major milestone events; IDR, TRR, CDR and others

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s; 6 Years with Masters; or 4 Years with PhD
- US Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- 2 years of experience working in an Agile environment
- 5 years' combined experience working in a Software Organization.
- 3 years of technical or functional environment leadership experience.
- 2 years of experience developing processes and/or governance to be utilized by multiple teams.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time if needed.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance and/or Special Program Access.
- Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- Master's Degree with 9 years of experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) preferably an Engineering degree.
- Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution. Candidate will require ability to rapidly assess and lend guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers.
- Working knowledge and/or experience across engineering disciplines.
- Experience on ICBMs.
- Experience creating or growing new sections or departments.
- Experience managing a software engineering team.
- Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.

Salary Range: $156,000 - $258,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
