Position Overview
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the company. You will report directly to the President and frequently collaborate with the Vice-President, Director of Operations (DOO), General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Human Resources Manager, and other managers to enhance overall productivity, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), increase efficiencies, set strategic goals, and create best practice Short Interval Programs (SIP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), to increase overall profits and drive growth. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful problem solver with strong analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills, while being an inspiring leader who identifies and maximizes the talents and contributions of each team member.

Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans for the company's growth.
- Identify, engage, and manage consultants for special projects, e.g., project management and strategic planning procedures implementation.
- Work with the President and Vice-President to adopt and drive organizational vision, mission, and values.
- Develop and implement specific, identifiable, actionable, achievable, and measurable business KPIs, SIPs, and SOPs to ensure alignment with industry best practices and strategic goals.
- Recruit, manage, coordinate, and unite employees from various departments and locations to achieve greater efficiencies and nurture a positive team culture.
Financial Management and Fiscal Acumen
- Review job performance analytics and report results.
- Analyze current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships, and make recommendations for changes to optimize business growth.
- Review financial models used to support operational decision-making and strategies with President, Vice-President, and CFO.
- Set and monitor business KPIs.
- Assist President, DOO, and CFO with developing yearly project and operational budgets.
- Review budgets and staffing with the team to identify future hiring opportunities.
- Spearhead strategies, and implement policies and procedures, to drive the company's operational growth.
- Oversee the monitoring of construction project P&Ls to identify issues early and take corrective action to keep projects on track.
- Work closely with Operations to streamline processes, ensure timely delivery of services, maintain scope, and comply with safety regulations.
- Prepare and present operational reports to President and Vice-President.
- Drive sustainable growth while minimizing losses.
- Assess and implement improved processes and modern technologies.
- Foster and maintain relationships with other professionals, vendors, customers, and organizations in the industry.
- For each project, ensure timely project turnover meeting and closeout process on a quarterly/yearly basis, while measuring profitability and sharing overall lessons learned.
- Spearhead the enhancement and integration of prefabrication operations into the construction process, and identify prefab opportunities to increase quality control, productivity, and profitability.
- Build a positive and collaborative work environment by promoting teamwork, leading, mentoring, and advancing professional development.
- Establish goals for each department and confirm realization.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue appropriate M & A opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a COO or similar capacity.
- Previous experience in electrical contracting or related industry preferred.
- Ability to work as an independent contributor and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of technology and application to overall business operations and construction industry.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, effective time management skills, self-disciplined, honest, mature, and possessing sound business judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including aptitudes in listening, public speaking, and effectively interacting with senior executives, employees, and customers.
- Objective and thorough in the evaluation of opportunities, with a bottom-line orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and enhance productivity.
- Superior project management and planning skills.
- Competencies and knowledge regarding IT, cybersecurity, and network/system infrastructure.

Reporting Relationships
The COO reports directly to the President, providing monthly updates on company performance and key initiatives.
Educational and Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5 to 10 years minimum work experience in engineering or construction.
Other Requirements
- Must have a current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to local, in-state, and out-of-state jobsites as needed.
- Undergo and pass required background checks, drug/alcohol screenings, and physicals.
- Evening and weekend work as needed/required.
- Willingness to lead by example through compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
