Shift differential for shifts starting after 3pm

POSITION SUMMARY
The Bus Driver operates the Redwoods’ bus and safely transports Redwoods’ residents and staff according to established schedules.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transports residents on various trips, medical visits, errands according to facility procedures
- Assists passengers in entering and leaving the bus.
- Arranges for the safety and comfort of passengers.
- Performs regular minor maintenance and service on facility vehicles such as checking to ensure that vehicles are in working order, refueling, checking oil and water.
- Reports major maintenance repairs and accidents to the Director.
- Maintains simple records relating to vehicle operations and schedules.
- Maintains vehicle neat and orderly condition.
- Assists department with special projects and tasks such as assisting during excursions, etc.
- Other duties as assigned based on scope of responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a CA B Driver’s License.
- Must be willing to participate in the mandatory Employer Pull Notice Program mandated by CA DMV.
- Must be willing to participate in the mandatory driver’s drug testing program mandated by the CHP Motor Carrier Unit.
- Minimum of 1 year driving a bus.
- Demonstrates proficiency in clear and effective English communication, both verbal and written, coupled with a strong ability to comprehend and execute instructions accurately in various formats.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical effort required for daily duties include driving the bus for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to tie wheelchairs and assist senior passengers in getting on and off the bus.
- Must be able to see and hear sufficiently well to carry out all responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds.
