DESCRIPTION Alternate Perspectives, Incorporated (API) has an immediate opening for a Safety & Security Manager at one of our operated Job Corps Locations. If you want to be a part of dynamic team that helps young people ages 16-24-years-old, this job is for you! You will be a part of the nation’s most successful youth training and education program, Job Corps, for the past 60 years.
In this role, you will oversee the entire Safety and Security Department, as well as transportation staff. You will be responsible and oversee the safety and security of our center and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety and security protocols, performing safety inspections and audits, and monitoring trends in security-related issues. You will also serve as a liaison between our organization and its staff, students, and law enforcement agencies. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership and communication skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of safety and security procedures.
Some Additional Essential Functions:
- Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and safety and security activities of the department; serve as liaison between the Center, federal, local, and state law enforcement agencies, and officials.
- Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement departmental and personnel changes as approved by the Center Director and coordinated with the Human Resources Manager prior to implementation.
- Develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures, and review and recommend changes to budget authorization; and ensure all requisitioning and purchasing of supplies, materials and services are completed in accordance with API and Center purchasing procedures.
- Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting safety and security; coordinate with other departments promote center objectives.
- Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and three years related experience required, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
