Job Summary:
HCA s Forward Pathology Solutions is seeking a Pathologist, Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology, for HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in beautiful Port Charlotte, Florida.
Qualified Candidates: - AP/CP certification or board eligibility
- At least three years of hospital-based experience
- Active Florida Medical License or eligible to obtain
- Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with hospital staff and referring physicians.
Pathology Work Description: - Surgical volumes approximately 4,000 per year
- Cytology 1,000 per year
- Procedures (frozen sections and rapid on site assessments) less than 10 per week
- Peripheral smears approximately 5 per week
- Blood bank reviews less than 1 per week
- Fawcett has approximately 250 beds with a variety of anatomic pathology specimens including breast, colorectal, thoracic, urologic and bone marrow specimens.
- The practice consists of two pathologists who also remotely cover the surgical and cytology volumes at HCA Florida Englewood hospital (100 beds with approximately 1,400 surgical specimens and 100 cytology specimens per year).
