Position Summary:
The Solidworks Electrical Designer will work with other design team members to ensure projects are produced on-time to a high specification
Responsibilities:
- 2D design work, ability to execute minimally to moderately complex design projects
- Responsible for electrical & pneumatic design, modeling, component sizing and specification, and part detailing.
- Support sales with the estimation of time & materials
- Creates project documentation including electrical schematics, Bill of Materials, spare parts lists, and As-Built drawings
- Ensure designs are cost effective and meet American Equipment's standards
- Read and understand customers additional requirements
- Provide technical support and training to others when required
- Responsible for directing or executing corrective action when shop problems are encountered
- Follow all ISO Quality Control Procedures
- Review drawings and work of others in the department
- Scan, file, and save all documents pertaining to the job
- Keep an accurate time for each job
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Design Manager Additional Training to be provided:
- On the job training pertaining to drafting and design of cranes
- Quality management system training (as needed)
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor control centers, Electrical Code and Electrical Control Systems
- CAD experience (i.e. Solidworks Electrical/Schematics)
- Use of CMAA Specifications & Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred but not required
Work Environment:
- Able to work in an office for extensive periods of time
- Able to travel to work sit/traverse work floor
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds Position Type and
Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
