Description:
Position Overview: Works with the CEO and Board of Directors to establish and lead major fundraising initiatives to support the broad programming needs. This position supervises Donor Engagement and Grant Compliance teams. This position is responsible for a general array of fund-raising tasks, most notably Major Gifts cultivation, solicitation and stewardship with individuals, foundations, and corporations in collaboration with the Donor Engagement team; procuring sponsorship for special events in collaboration with the Marketing team; creating and implementing an annual giving plan/giving society as needed for specific programs and/or projects. This position will supervise research, strategic planning, design and coordination of fundraising efforts of Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County. This position serves as the interface between the Board of Directors, the CEO, and the staff in donor relations: managing relationships with current and potential donors, including interacting with former donors to encourage continued contributions, researching funding sources, grant writing: identifying grant opportunities and managing the grant writing process, and grant management. These efforts include the creation and implementation of an overall resource development strategy and the development of collateral material to support such efforts.

AGENCY EXPECTATION OF EMPLOYEE
- Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information.
- Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County.
- Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times.
- Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas.
- Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR.
- Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver.
- Contribute to other projects when necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Oversee the strategy and implementation of Meals On Wheels various fundraising, including major gifts for general operations, establish or augment existing endowments, and gifts to fund special projects.
- Work in collaboration with the Donor Engagement team to identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors in a donor-centric manner, with the goal of procuring new gifts and/or upgrading existing donors.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to create and implement a major fundraising plan.
- Manage grant writing and identification of new and ongoing grant opportunities.
- Establish fundraising goals based on the program needs, as established through the annual planning and budgeting process including executive management, key program staff, as well as members of the board.
- Establish and maintain relationships with foundation executives, trust officers, corporate leaders, elected officials, and other community representatives to maximize support for agency.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of agency budget.
- Monitor donor engagement and grant compliance managers to ensure that work assignments, polices, procedures and staff relations are maximized.
- Work with staff to develop agency programs and grant budgets.
- Work with outside funders and other organizations to promote agency programs, serve on committees, and support community conditions that benefit clients and participants.
- Participate as the appointed member to organizations as designated by the CEO.
- Identify and develop strategies to meet the major fundraising goals, in cooperation with the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing donors, and identify and cultivate prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Lead and manage department staff in the establishment of short and long-term goals and objectives in order to meet annual agency fundraising goals.
- Effectively communicate all external fundraising activity with executive staff as well as Board of Directors on an ongoing basis.
- Provide day-to-day participation and requirements to meet the annual goals through grants, annual appeals, special events and other activities as agreed by the CEO and endorsed by the Board of Directors.
- Present Meals On Wheels to promote the programs and services.
- Prepare and communicate regular reports on progress towards fundraising goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or higher degree preferred.
- Fundraising with a track record in some of the following: major gifts, annual giving, foundation and corporate giving, membership, sponsorship, capital campaign planning, and execution.

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years' nonprofit Development experience, five of which must be at the Major Gifts Officer or Development Director level or successful fundraising with some experience in annual fund and/or membership programs for all levels of donors; previous management experience a plus; experience in grant writing.
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Raisers Edge donor database preferred, training will be provided if needed.
- Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts.
- Understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices.
- Public programs and development of annual reports, collateral fundraising, and other printed materials.
- Proven success in records management and reporting.
