Position Summary:
American Equipment is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial cranes, specializing in providing high-quality and reliable solutions for various industrial applications.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sr. Technical Accountant to join our dynamic team at American Equipment in Salt Lake City, UT. As a Technical Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports. You will collaborate closely with the finance team, providing technical expertise and support in various accounting areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor the activities and operations related to collection, accounting, and auditing of revenue collection systems; recommends and implements policies, procedures, and practices as they relate to cash handling.
- Perform complex accounting reconciliations and financial statement reviews, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for new business initiatives, contracts, and transactions.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Research and stay up-to-date on accounting standards and best practices, ensuring compliance and proposing process improvements
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software, optimizing efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in a corporate environment and/or Public Accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software- analyzing issues from the perspective of the accounting profession and originating viable approaches to address problems and improve systems; interpret, applying, and explaining policies, procedures, laws, codes and regulations
- Ability to review financial records, compile data, make computations and prepare data summaries; maintain accounting systems; perform detail work requiring high degree of accuracy; understanding and follow oral and written directions; contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities' communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing' maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; interpret and input data efficiently and accurately

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

This is a full-time onsite position; 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.
