Chief of Gastroenterology needed for a medical group affiliated with an academic hospital in New Haven County, CT. There is a competitive compensation plan and benefits, retirement plan, generous PTO plan, and paid medical malpractice including tail coverage.
Job Function:
- Join a group of two physicians, and one NP (looking to add an additional APRN)
- Largely clinical position with some blocked time for meetings and committee responsibilities
- Monday-Friday schedule, 8-4:30 with a shared call schedule of 1:4 for hospital consults
- Treat office-based gastroenterology patients and scheduled endoscopy days, expect 50/50 split
- Hospital has internal medicine residents and medical students - didactic teaching and precepting part of the role
- Create treatment plans, and involve patients and family members in those plans
- Collaborate on improvement in care delivery and service with management, other physicians and staff
