Summary
This is a 24/7 responsibility to meet the needs of the ED and will require supporting all shifts with staffing, clinical expertise, and the delivery of patient care. In collaboration with the ED Director the Clinical Manager will be focused on the patient experience, TWOR, physician/staff/patient satisfaction, managing the budget, meeting productive targets, and providing an ED culture of safety. Satisfaction is measured by Press Gainey scores, employee surveys, and physician satisfaction scores. An ED culture of safety is maintained by adhering to Joint Commission standards, National Patient safety standards, staying within nurse patient CA ratios, minimizing workplace injuries. The Director and Clinical Manager will manage the performance, attendance, and behavior of all staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager will assist with staff meeting content development, staff adherence to policies, the preceptor and orientation process, throughput management and the nurse shift manager leadership support. Actively leads or participates in committees as requested to do so in order to improve the organizational outcomes and operational excellence. The Clinical Nurse Manager will be provided a standard work product and in the absence of the Director may be asked to assume some of the Director’s task from their standard work product. The Clinical Nurse Manager will promote an ED environment of nurse retention, have a can do attitude with creative ideas for improvements. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of recent ED clinical experience
ADN (Strongly encourage degree advancement)
Current ACLS & PALS
TNCC preferred (must have TNCC within the first 6 months of hire)
CEN (must have within the first year of employment)
Previous experience in a leadership role: Charge Nurse, Nurse Shift Manager, Manager, or other management experience.
Quality and risk management experience a plus
Current MICN
Current California RN License
Pay Range: $59.24 - $94.79
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
