Obstetrics has 2 suites and performs approximately 80 deliveries per year. Mom and baby stay together in room. Surgical suite on first floor for C-sections.
Require a minimum of 2 years experience in Obstetrics or Labor & Delivery. BLS, ACLS and NRP are required. There will be 1 RN in the OB department at a time, and will allocate another RN if a second patient arrives. RN will attend C-sections as needed and will be responsible for mom; there will be a Provider, CRNA, Surgical Tech and RN - OR assisting with C-Sections as well. RN will float to Patient Care Unit (Med Surg) when they do not have patients in OB department. They have Hugs Infant Tags for security, Philips for Ultrasound equipment and OB Trace View for documentation.
12 hour shifts, 6:30am-7:00pm and 6:30pm-7:00am, self scheduling (rotational basis) with scheduling committee reviews and approves. Will work every third weekend.
Scrubs: Navy Blue
Orientation: Held every Wednesday, consisting of three days of classroom orientation and one shift with preceptor.
