Position SummaryThe Specialty Clinic Nurse provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following standards and practices under the supervision of the specialty clinic manager. This is a visible position interacting with patients, families, internal and external providers. The Specialty Clinic Nurse must effectively manage the challenges of running multiple clinics with different specialists.
Key Accountabilities- Prioritize each provider's daily patient schedule and adjust appropriately to contribute to efficient workflow.
- Communicate with provider's office staff to insure patient information is accurately conveyed or received and gather appropriate patient information to reduce errors arising from process.
- Perform general nursing care to patients while maintaining a timely flow of patients in a manner that is timely and meets quality standards
- Prepare equipment and assist providers during treatments, examinations and testing of patients.
- Assist in scheduling patients and patients' additional testing to optimize departmental workload .
- Assist other nursing personnel with performance of their duties as assigned and as the workload permits.
- Expands job-related knowledge and skills to improve and adjust to change.
- Follow department policies and procedures to maintain HIPPA compliance.
Minimum Qualifications- State of Nebraska RN or LPN License
- Current BLS certification
- Clear understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations
