Description: We are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Parts Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing parts produced by production to ensure that they meet required specifications and quality standards.
The applicant must be a US citizen. Access to DoD facilities is required. The company is not able to sponsor a work visa for this position.
Sign On Bonus
Collins Machine Works offers a sign-on bonus in the amount of $2,000 to be paid after six months of satisfactory employment performance. Collins Machine Works also offers employee referral bonuses in the amount of $1,000 per referral to be paid after the referred employee has completed six months of satisfactory employment performance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A candidate for this position can expect to perform the following tasks:
- Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes to confirm assigned products and parts meet specifications utilizing quality control systems and procedures
- Conducts visual and dimensional tests using calibrated equipment to ensure the accuracy of the finished products and conformance to customer specifications
- Determines whether parts not meeting specifications can be salvaged
- Documents measured results of machining operations
- Prepares reports and associated paperwork documenting inspection findings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 5 years of machining experience is preferred
- At least two years of experience as a quality control inspector preferred
- Read blueprints
- Ability to perform tests and inspections using calibrated instruments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Language skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must be able to pass a background check to gain access to sites that perform work on US DOD Contracts (on-site)
- Candidate should have a good driving record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when required
- May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel
