Job Summary - The Registered Nurse (RN) The RN in the Med/Surgical/Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, and Geriatric.
- Competent to care for the general medical/surgical/pediatric patient.
- To include, but not limited to: Respiratory Conditions, Congestive Heart Failure, Chest Pain, Cardio Vascular Accident, Diabetes Mellitus, Infectious Disease, General Cancer/Pain, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Laparoscopic Surgery, General Gynecological Surgery, and Pediatric Infections.
- Responsible for the compliance of Physician/Provider orders.
- Ensures all cares are complete on the patient, such as, but not limited to, Activities of Daily Living.
- Ensures that safe discharge plan is complete.
- Maintains accurate patient care plan.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience - Graduate of Registered Nursing (RN) Education program.
Licensure/Certification/Registration - Current licensure in the State of South Dakota as a Registered Nurse or multi-state compact RN license, and must be maintained in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained.
- ACLS is recommended.
- PALS is highly recommended.
Work Schedule - 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am; 48 hours per pay period.
Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
