Job Summary: We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to work in our Labor and Delivery unit. As a member of our dedicated healthcare team, you will play a key role in providing safe and personalized care to expectant mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby by monitoring their condition, administering medications, and providing emotional support.
Job Details: - 8 or 13 week assignments are considered
- 12 hour days or nights
- Low-risk critical access hospital
- Weekly gross $3,024
Responsibilities: - Assess and monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families.
- Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions.
- Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies.
- Prepare patients for labor and delivery and assist with the birthing process.
- Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing.
Qualifications: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
