Job Purpose:
This role will be crucial in overseeing our financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions while ensuring compliance and accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of managing financial operations.
We are looking for someone with some or all the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- CPA or CMA designation, preferred by not required.
- Strong background in accounting and tax filing with comprehensive knowledge of the full accounting cycle and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to excel at details, multi-tasking, and working under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proven ability to build productive and positive working relationships with managers and team members throughout the organization.
- Demonstrated supervisor skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, 10-key, and accounting & enterprise software tools.
Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Lead financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and achieve business objectives.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide an accurate and timely overview of the company's financial position for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage Chart of Accounts and Branch/Departmental accounting structure to efficiently facilitate the evolving financial and management reporting needs of the organization.
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff, guiding accounting principles, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage daily bank account activity, including bank wires, electronic funds transfers, check issuance, and store-level cash handling procedures.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure the accuracy of financial data, and comply with regulations.
- Provide leadership in the maintenance and enhancements to the Company’s Accounting Systems and sub-systems, interacting with both Senior Management and IT personnel to ensure accurate and efficient accounting systems are in place.
