Department Notes 12 bed unit, Ratio 1:4, Average daily census is 2 patients, with a possible jump to 4-5 patients during RSV season.
Specialty Profile Notes Minimum 2 years experience working in Pediatric setting.
Requirements: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, BLS and PALS issued through American Heart Association.
Shifts: 6:45AM-7:15PM and 6:45PM-7:15AM. Will work 3-4 (12 hour) weekend shifts on a 28 day schedule. There is self-scheduling in Women's Services and will be given to the staff first, then travelers. The Director and leaders will then balance the schedule based on experience and skill set.
Charting: Meditech. WOWs are provided to each RN for charting; Medication Administration: Pyxis; IV Pumps: Solaris
Scrubs: Any color of professional scrubs. No other facility names or logos permitted on the scrubs.
Orientation: Will accommodate start any day of the week. Will start in Human Resources and complete paperwork and obtain badge, next onto Occupational Health for Respiratory Fit Test and then will meet with Nursing Education to complete appropriate testing for their unit. All RNs will take a medication test the first day. After testing, will go to the unit to finish their shift with a Clinical Preceptor.
