Vaxxinova US is seeking an individual to join our team as the Operations Manager in our Worthington, Minnesota office.
About the Operations Manager Role:
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of veterinary vaccine manufacturing from raw materials through shipping finished product to end users and working in close collaboration with Quality Control/Quality Assurance, R&D, Sales and Marketing.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Leadership/Administrative
- Assuring cost-effective, regulatory-compliant, and on-time manufacturing and delivery of veterinary vaccine/biological products to customers
- Oversight of the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities for production to support Vaxxinova business operations.
- Long term strategic planning of raw material, management resources, plant staffing, and plant / equipment (capital expenditures).
- Training and coaching of managers to help them enhance their technical and leadership skills to improve the organization’s performance.
Productivity/Processes
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the manufacturing of products in order to satisfy production requirements in a cost-efficient manner.
- Transfer of new products or processes from R&D or other Vaxxinova entities for commercialization and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in the manufacturing facility.
- Understanding and management of competing objectives (e.g. cost / quality) in order to deliver products that meet manufacturing standards as measured versus multiple criteria
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- Familiar with regulatory agencies including the USDA/CVB, C-CVB, VICH, OSHA, Federal, State, and Local Agencies
- Familiarity with the principles of veterinary biologics, vaccine production, quality control and regulatory agencies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail orientated with strong organizational and critical thinking skills
- Written and verbal English communication skills to effectively work with and interact with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to effectively present information to various audiences
- Proven track record of managing research projects and teams
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to exhibit sound business judgement, be decisive, flexible, and have determination
- Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team player with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Experience and Education:
- At least 10 years of prior applicable work experience is required
- At least 5 years in a veterinary vaccine or pharmaceutical business is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related science field required
- Master’s degree in business or science field preferred
