POSITION INFORMATION
The Specialized Transportation Sales Executive is a hunter responsible for the sales and marketing of the specialized transportation (open deck) fleet to hunt for new business and maintain current relationships with customers. Identifies new markets and customer leads and develops a strong sales pipeline. Negotiate rates with customers under the guidance of the VP of Specialized Division. Onboard new customers, ensuring a smooth transition. Solicit loads from current customers. Bring solutions to the table for closing new business; knowing when to escalate. Communicate with department managers to assess and distribute current information on the development and needs of customers. Meet performance metrics to fill new customer pipelines for prospects, and leads which includes phone call quotas per day. Meet monthly sales goals and achieve monthly scorecard goals. Travel as needed, including quarterly visits to Corporate HQ.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build new and maintain current relationships with customers

- Communicates with Warren department managers to assess and distribute current information on the development and needs of customers
- Travel as needed, including quarterly visits to our Corporate Office in Waterloo, IA
- Meet performance metrics to fill new customer pipeline for prospects, and leads which includes phone call quotas per day
- Meet monthly sales goals and achieve monthly scorecard goals
- Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned
Background Required:
- Transportation open deck sales (3 years)
- Proven hunter sales mentality
- Sales tools to generate prospects & new business (i.e., ZoomInfo)
- Time & territory management reporting process
- Proven track record of producing profitable growth
- Demonstrated ability to close new business
- Pricing logic & analysis
- National account exposure
- Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
Background Preferred (but not required):
- Owner-operator environment
- Education: Bachelor's degree

WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
