Job Overview We are currently looking for a Production Planning Supervisor to join our team in Conover, NC OR Bruce, MS.
As a Production Planning Supervisor, you will:
Provide leadership in scheduling and sequencing of manufactured materials and optimization of work center constraints. Ensures continuity of supply of manufactured materials for assigned manufacturing site(s). Manages inventory levels and allocation of manufactured materials according to customer demands and company objectives. Regularly reviews and understands network capacity requirements and capabilities to ensure customer demands are met. Translates demand requirements into capacity requirements for production plants.
Some of the responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Oversees daily activity of assigned staff to ensure planning function is delivered in effective and timely manner to support business requirements and industry standards.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operations according to pre-established manufacturing sequences and lead times to produce executable schedule, utilizing Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system.
- Utilizes advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized plans to organization to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manages and applies multiple scheduling calendars for resource availability. Manages system data set-ups to support management of machine time, labor, and labor pools for capacity management of finite and infinite resources.
- Applies intermediate and advanced methods and planning models (i.e., Make To Order MTO and Configure To Order CTO ) in fully integrated system environment to ensure effective delivery to customer.
- Supervises team of planning professionals to lead planning activities for plant as well as other manufacturing site(s).
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels for assigned department. Assists with interviews and selection of candidates; conducts training for assigned staff on industry-specific and department processes to keep department staffed at appropriate level.
- Provides leadership in system enhancement to improve applications that support planning process.
- Monitors performance to plan and takes proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting plan.
- Coordinates transportation between plants, transit to customers, receiving, and work centers to meet business needs.
Do you have these required qualifications? - Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or Logistics or similar.
- Seven years experience in production planning and control, production modeling, or inventory and warehouse management.
- Including one year leadership/supervisory experience.
Do you have these preferred qualifications? - Experience with master scheduling and level load planning.
- Experience in electronics, automotive, or furniture manufacturing environment.
- SAP Experience.
- LEAN Knowledge
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following: - Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of ERP system(s).
- Understanding of JIT concepts, theory of constraints and lean philosophy.
- Strong project management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, develop and execute objectives for team and affect business goals.
- Ability to conduct process reviews of the current and future sate to remove waste from processes and apply value-added engineering concepts.
