The Internal Medicine Advanced Practice Provider, (APP), Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, is part of an interdisciplinary team and responsible for treating adult patients in a primary care setting. The Internal Medicine APP provides initial and ongoing assessment and treatment of the patient's medical, physical, and psychosocial status, including:
• Coordinate the activities of the primary health care team to ensure optimal patient care services; candidates must be licensed to care for adult patients.
• Coordinate and schedule laboratory studies, diagnostic procedures, and services such as labs, x-rays, and referrals. Explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients and their families.
• Document in the patient's medical record all relevant data including but not limited to results of diagnostic tests, laboratory results; patient's condition, and response to therapies/interventions.
• Ability and willingness to work Monday - Friday 8a-5pm; provide up to 36 hours of direct patient care.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Works effectively in a team environment.
