Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to primarily support our Flint neurosurgical and orthopedic teams in providing patient care second to none! This position will also provide support at our Warren location as needed. Duties include hospital rounding, recording patients' medical histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. You will also be first assist in the operating room for neurosurgical and orthopedic surgeries.

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Responsibilities:
- Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis.
- Performing first assist duties in an operating room
- Providing pre and post op care to surgical patients
- Hospital rounding on surgical patients and surgical consults
- Performing physical exams and patient observations.
- Consulting with healthcare professionals and families.
- Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries.
- Administer and analyzing diagnostic tests.
- Monitoring and operating medical equipment.
- Diagnosing health issues
- Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms.
- Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies.
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
- Training patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Requirements:
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Master's degree from an accredited nursing or PA program.
- Previous experience within field or related work environment is preferred
- RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP.
- APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Prescriptive authorization.
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of disease prevention.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy.
