Responsibilities:
The Allan Myers Internship & Co-Op Programs are designed to give college students the opportunity to explore the heavy civil construction or construction materials industry through a variety of hands on, challenging, and well defined assignments. The length of each assignment is typically 3-6 months. During this time our interns & co-ops are exposed to projects in the transportation division of our company. The ideal candidate will have an interest in transportation or logistics, business development, and/or information, process, and technology. You an expect a dynamic, operational environment working with our fleet management and transportation logistics team. Work with industry-best fleet of state-of-the-art equipment and trucks that are integral to supplying big, exciting projects across the mid-Atlantic.
Responsibilities:
- Identify operational improvements in areas such as route optimization, carrier selection, back hauls, and trailer loading.
- Utilize internal and external resources to maximize efficiency and manage costs.
- Improve fleet and equipment utilization, maintenance availability, and fuel efficiency.
- Maintain compliance associated with fleet and equipment management registrations and licenses.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for pricing, haul rates, and availability.
- Work hand-in-hand with Allan Myers shop to coordinate and schedule maintenance, availability, repair scheduling, and fleet management.
- Use information at-hand to recommend/drive business decisions.
- Special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management, Logistics preferred.
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.
- Must have ability to connect and build rapport and relationships with associates and external customers at all levels.
- Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow through.
Starting at $21/hr.
