About us
- we are a small, family run general contracting firm with an in house custom cabinet shop based in silicon valley. Our projects range from bathrooms and kitchens to extensive remodels and additions. You will be joining a small team of experienced cabinet makers to produce high end custom cabinets, furniture, and other custom details for kitchens, bathrooms, closets, other living spaces.
Job responsibilities
- Construct and assemble cabinets, cabinet components, custom shelving, furniture, and other interior architectural details, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the designer and client
- Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges, side panels, and other details, always using design plans and blueprints for reference
- Clean, maintain, and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including shop and hand tools
- Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently to meet budgetary restrictions
- Manage time efficiently to meet budgetary restrictions
- Work collaboratively alongside other cabinet makers
- Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed
- Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
- Install cabinets on site according to plans and specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Working 80% in the cabinet shop for cabinet fabrication, and working 20% on job sites for installation
Job skills and qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience as a cabinetmaker, or equivalent skills
- Clean driving record
- Experience with construction of face frame and euro style cabinets
- Knowledge of and familiarity with materials and hardware used in custom cabinetry
- Proficient in cabinet installation
- Applicable engineering and design skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work full-time hours and occasionally overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines
Preferred qualifications
- Ten years experience as a cabinetmaker or equivalent skills
- Vocational or trade school
