RESPOND, Inc. is seeking Board of Education (Abbott) Teachers for their Prekindergarten classrooms in their North Camden Centers. These are full time, salary positions, 7-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
BONUS: $2,000 after first 3 months of employment, and $1,000 after finishing first 5 months of employment.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary is $54,272 to $$89,972 a year commensurate with experience

Duties/Responsibilities:
- The teacher will bring content-specific expertise to their instructional planning and delivery that equips students with the skills necessary to become informed, successful citizens in a global economy.
- Serve as a classroom leader who works to provide exceptional instruction that affords all students the opportunity to excel academically and meet grade level standards.
- Collaborate closely with other staff members to ensure that all students receive outstanding support and services.
- Continuously tracking student achievement data and using the data to inform instructional planning and delivery.
- Preparing, leveraging and delivering constructive feedback to students aimed at improving their academic performance.
- Consistently implementing and enforcing rules and consequences in the classroom setting.
- Providing continuous evaluation of student progress that is consistent with district established goals and policies, and clearly communicating this progress to all necessary families.
- Taking personal responsibility for students’ mastery of academic standards
- Effectively and innovatively incorporating technological resources into classroom lessons
- Communicating effectively with students, families and colleagues
- Attending and actively participating in all professional development, team planning and data analysis meetings
- Ability to successfully differentiate instruction in order to meet the needs of all students, including those who are classified as Special Education or English Language Learners
- A willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team committed to a new future for urban education
- An ability to demonstrate the qualities of flexibility and grit through past experiences
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
- Enthusiastic personality that will engage children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with teachers, support staff, parents, and students in a positive and constructive way.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient with computer software as required for recordkeeping and documentation.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college or university required
- P-3 required
- CE/CEAS required; or be in a Provisional Teacher Program (PTP) required
- 5 years experience working with children required
- Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the classroom.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
