As a Solder Operator, your primary responsibility is to connect or join different electronic components using soldering methods. You'll work with electronic products such as circuit boards, wires, and other electrical devices to ensure the quality and functionality of these products. Attention to detail and knowledge of soldering techniques are essential for success in this role.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Utilize both electrical and manual tools, including soldering irons, de-soldering equipment, and solder removal tools.
- Operate and maintain soldering equipment (such as soldering irons, hot air guns, solder pots, and soldering stations) to ensure they're in proper working condition.
- Interpret resistor color codes and capacitor values.
- Understand PCB assembly processes and the installation sequence of through-hole components.
- Perform rework, repair, and modifications on printed circuit boards and assemblies as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to lower-level Soldering Operators.
- Testing, programming and troubleshooting non-functioning boards
Requirements:
- Proficiency in various soldering techniques:
- Through-hole soldering
- Surface mount technology (SMT) soldering
- Rework/reflow soldering
- Ability to handle and assemble small electronic and mechanical parts.
- Comfort with sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.
Preferences:
- Prior work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with recognizing a wide range of electronic components.
