AREA DIRECTOR (LPN)
Full Time, Days
Job Description:
- Coordinates, manages, and implements all services required by the resident’s care plan, both from in-house staff and outside healthcare professionals.
- Supervises care delivered to each resident by floor staff and Medication Technicians.
- Ensures the assessment, development, and implementation of a care plan for each resident.
- Performs level of care assessments as needed.
- Supervises charting and medication administration to the residents.
- Supervises medication administration to the residents by the Medication Technician.
- Coordinates and assures staff compliance with Infection Control policies.
- Coordinates with the Staff Care Coordinator to ensure the orientation, teaching, and training of care staff regarding all resident care policies and procedures.
- Communicates and/or coordinates the communication with family regarding all facets of services rendered to the residents.
- Responds to calls of an emergency nature from resident or Supervisor-in-Charge on duty as needed; on call is required.
- Participates in the counseling of nursing employees according to disciplinary policy and procedure.
Job Requirements:
- Prefer supervisory experience in a long-term care setting.
- Certified as a Supervisor-in-Charge as required by the Division of Facility Services of North Carolina.
- Enjoy working with and have a general knowledge of geriatrics.
- Good character, team spirit, and willing to teach and learn.
- Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse with an active license in North Carolina.
- At least one year prior management experience.
