Job Description OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE - Primary point-of-contact and owner of the US communication strategy for BioLife Operations and their strategic activities as well as for select initiatives within the BioLife Transformation portfolio.
- Focused on raising awareness about BioLife and its mission among relevant stakeholders, improving understanding of the importance of plasma donation and increasing positive coverage about plasma donation.
- Serve as spokesperson - when needed - for BioLife among US media, advocates, and community members.
- Partner with the Head of BioLife US Communications to support BioLife business objectives, raise awareness of key external opportunities, and manage issues.
ACCOUNTABILITIES - Engage with reporters - predominantly local media in the US - to shape, educate, and balance media coverage about plasma donation (and BioLife specifically), encouraging positive awareness about plasma donation and generating more public interest in donating.
- Responsible for managing US BioLife Center media activities, for tracking and reporting internally on media activities and coverage.
- Partners with US BioLife Community Engagement Partners for US local media and community outreach activities, as well as providing communication counsel and input when appropriate.
- Partners with the BioLife US Operations Head and team to provide strategic communications counsel.
- Serve as the Communication representative and counsel for US Critical Event Response (CERT) Teams
- Coordinates disease/plasma awareness and patient-led campaigns (internal and external) for US BioLife Centers, in partnership with BioLife Marketing and Operations
- Supports BioLife Operations to provide content and help with messaging across BioLife internal channels.
- Provide support of employee engagement strategies, programs, and channels for US BioLife, in collaboration with BioLife Internal Communications.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: - Bachelor's Degree - BS/BA; Majors in Journalism, Communications preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience required at a corporation or consultancy with expertise in corporate communications and media relations, preferably within the healthcare and/or multi-unit retail/public-facing environment.
- Experience in US media relations at local/national level.
- Results-oriented focus in proactive campaign execution and comfort with high-pressure issues management events
- Creative, critical, and strategic thinker who can problem solve and deliver solutions using strong judgment, able to make decisions in a timely fashion and escalate when required.
- Dynamic, team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills who reflects Takeda and its values.
- Strong ability to convene teams, align voices, and influence without authority to achieve objectives.
- Confident guiding external engagement strategies and in a dynamic issues environment
- Self-starter who can work under pressure with conflicting priorities and work to tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

U.S. Base Salary Range: $149,100.00 - $234,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position . T he actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors , including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained , certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
