Job Description:
L3 Harris is seeking a Specialist, Electrical Engineering to join our team in our Orlando, FL location. The selected individual will develop complex, advanced targets used to test the systems that protect our warfighters, our nation and our allies. The person selected for this position will design, develop and troubleshoot electronic systems to include, but are not limited to, mission computers, data acquisition systems, avionics power supplies, batteries, encryptors, encoders, RF transmitters/receivers, inertial navigation systems, flight sensors, flight termination systems, actuation devices, subsystem controllers, and automated test equipment. Will work primarily at the board level performing schematic capture and circuit board layout. The successful individual will be proficient in circuit analysis and use SPICE simulation tools.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain, and maintain, a US goverment security clearance
- Use electrical engineering knowledge to support the definition and assessment of interoperability of various electronic systems on flight vehicles and associated support equipment
- Design and maintain schematics and other related engineering documentation
- Define electronic system architecture, electronic assembly design, performance predictions, and external vendor support for various engineering assemblies
- Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the integration and troubleshooting of a wide range of electronic assemblies
- Conduct/lead non-conformance investigations and corrective actions
- Provide electrical subject matter expertise during acceptance and qualification testing of electronic assemblies used in an aerospace/defense application
- Participate in system level testing, flight events, and associated missions as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior electrical engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior electrical engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior electrical engineering experience
- 1+ years of experience with schematic capture and circuit board layout
- Ability to perform circuit analysis and use SPICE simulation tools
- Knowledge of, and experience with, lab equipment and electronics troubleshooting
