COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS DESIGNER (RCDD)

We are seeking a talented and experienced Communications Systems Designer (RCDD) to join our team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices related to communications systems design. The Communications Systems Designer will be involved in the entire project process including, but not limited to, scope definition/proposal development, initial assessments, concept creation, design, calculations, drawing production, editing specifications, and construction administration. The candidate should have a passion for delivering high-quality solutions as our client's best partner.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
· Design the communications systems for building construction projects. Design will include, but not be limited to, telecommunications/structured cabling, technology space planning, pathway infrastructure, equipment selection.
· Create detailed design drawings, specifications, narratives, and other relevant documentation in accordance with industry standards, codes, and owner project requirements.
· Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
· Be responsible for all aspects of the communications design with minimal supervision.
· Provide training, guidance and development to technical support team members as needed.
Qualifications:
· RCDD certification is required
· Minimum 5 years actively designing communications systems for buildings in the AEC industry is required
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology related degree OR 7 years of active design experience in communications systems for buildings is required
· Understanding of and experience editing Division 27 specifications is required
· Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards including ANSI/TIA and BICSI is required
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills required
· Experience in Revit or AutoCAD is required
· Experience designing audio-visual, electronic security, and other technology systems is preferred.
