Now Hiring – MRI Technologist
Location: Glastonbury, CT – (31 Sycamore Street)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for performing routine and specialized MRI and radiographic procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis.
- Must accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, routine procedural protocols, administer contrast materials, prepare, and operate the MR equipment, associated software, devices, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
- Maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other people.
- Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow.
- Perform quality control and reporting tasks, setting up and conducting MRI procedures, maintaining day-to-day schedules, assisting radiologist, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department assuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
- Screens patients, employees, and visitors to maintain a magnetically safe environment according to the American College of Radiology standards.
- Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
- Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).
- Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continuously strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.

Requirements:
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), MRI certification required within 12 months of employment.
- Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (RTR). Connecticut Radiographer License.
- Two years of MRI technologist experience
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
