Capital One is looking for a Sr. Analyst for the Cyber Active Defense team, a part of our Cyber Intelligence organization.
As a Sr. Active Defense Analyst, you will play an integral role in protecting our customers, our associates, and our brand. The team leverages a variety of disparate unique data sources to identify cyber adversary trends, tactics, and anomalous activity. We are looking for someone who is forward thinking, with experience producing actionable intelligence to mitigate cyber threats to include brand impersonations and phishing, in collaboration across the enterprise.
You are adaptable and thrive working cross-functionally, adept at producing intelligence to support business requirements, and proactively identify areas for implementation of active defense measures.
Responsibilities:
Monitor, collect and report on suspicious / anomalous activity, threat intelligence reporting, and security events and incidents
Understanding and communicating, both written and verbal, cyber adversary trends and the impact to Capital One’s consumer products and defenses
Work collaboratively across cyber intelligence, operations and security testing teams.
Monitor external data sources (e.g. cyber defense vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams), to maintain currency of cyber defense threat conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
At least 4 years of experience producing intelligence to combat cyber threats or conducting investigations into cybercrime, or advanced persistent threats
At least 2 years of experience in evaluating cyber adversaries, technical indicators of compromise (IOCs), and cyber tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs)
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with vendors and external resources used to collect cyber intelligence in the financial services space
2+ years of experience collecting against intelligence requirements and applying intelligence cycle principles to cyber threat analysis
2+ years of experience with cloud concepts and resources (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $165,100 - $188,500 for Prin Assoc, Cyber TechnicalSan Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $174,900 - $199,700 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Technical
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
