Lead Sterile Processing Tech at Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth I:
- The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
- The Lead Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for supervising and assisting with the cleaning and sterilizing of all items pertinent to the operations of the center.
- Makes decisions regarding sterilization department needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members and/or leaders.
- Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the unit as a whole.
- May have additional responsibilities as designed by the Clinical Director/Facility Administrator, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

Required Skills:Qualifications:
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - CRCST (preferred)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- BLS certification preferred.

Required Experience:Experience:
- At least 4 years' experience as a SPD/Instrument Room Technician in multiple specialties.
- Experience with all types of sterilizers.
- Knows operating room instrumentation.
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
- Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
- Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
