Job Summary
We are looking for a Nurse Educator/RN (NICU) who will work closely to identify educational needs/opportunities within the department. This individual will possess a strong knowledge base in teaching and learning theories; curriculum design; methods for validation of learning and innovative options. Collaboration between clinical department leaders and education department, the Nurse Educator uses innovative technologies and strategies to strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving abilities of the learner. Creates an environment that promotes professional practice. The Educator coordinates, facilitates and provides a comprehensive orientation program for all new members of nursing services. Plans and/or conducts in services and mandatory education programs for hospital clinical staff as required by regulatory agencies. Promotes a culture that supports life-long learning and professional development for clinical staff.
Dual Role Details - Will work 16hrs as an Educator and 24hrs as RN (NICU) including every 3rd weekend and holiday
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing required. MSN preferred in Education or working on MSN degree. NICU experience required. One degree must be in nursing. Three to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience. Candidates must show demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
