What You Will Do:
The Principal Systems Engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering discipline, to include requirements decomposition into software functions, system performance analysis and trade studies, oversight of software development and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements closure. The system engineer will interact with the agile development teams, program leadership and customer regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated with our portfolio capabilities. This position is for Aurora CO, State College PA, or Richardson, TX
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- In this role you will work with the customer and engineering leadership to perform analysis necessary to define and document requirements for software releases; work with the Requirements Manager to ensure up to date requirements traceability matrices are in place; assist in the creation/management of a project schedule based on development and release activities.
- The candidate must also possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to all levels of the organization and drive processes to successful completion in support of schedules
- The principal systems engineer will be responsible for contributing to the technical planning and capability / feature designs, and technical detailing for the agile development teams.
- The principal system engineer may also work on a cloud solution, where parts of the system will be on the Cloud environment and other portions remain on a hardware environment
- The principal system engineer is required to have strong working knowledge of networking, infrastructure, cyber security, software design and architectures
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Active TS/SCI
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
- System engineering full life cycle experience and technical leadership experience in development of large software systems.
- Experience supporting agile development activities, including requirements specification and integration test and verification activities (full life-cycle)
- Experience with requirements derivation, capability development-analyze complex requirements and determine viable solutions
- Ability to decompose customer epics into capabilities that can then be decomposed by the development teams into actionable features and stories for development
- Systems design and specification experience, CONOPS development
- Experience on a large-scale distributed software system
- Experience defining acceptance criteria for capabilities that can be detail designed and developed by external teams
- Understanding and experience conducting design and/or modeling activities
- Understanding of how to interpret customer needs and convert them to achievable requirements or capabilities
- Ability to maintain technical cost and schedule for systems engineering and software integration
Qualifications We Prefer:
- SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background analyst with end user mission experience
- Experience in a technical leadership role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team
- Experience with cloud-based S/W architectures and systems
- Experience using Architecture Frameworks and modeling resources and methodologies like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc. for definition of large systems with complex integration and interoperability challenges.
- Experience developing MBSE and/or DoDAF operational views for overview and details
- AWS cloud experience - AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience, as a System Engineer or working directly with in such roles
- Experience using modeling resources Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of COTS / FOSS applications

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
