Chassis Manufacturing Support Specialist

How You Will Make an Impact?
In this position, you will develop and maintain contacts for all Chassis OEM suppliers and Chassis Carriers / Delivery Companies, to improve chassis On Time Delivery. Communicate all chassis due date changes to the manufacturing and Sales Teams to coordinate proper scheduling of the units. You will also work closely with plant traffic teams to review accurate and timely receipt of chassis.
The Nuts and Bolts:
- Trouble shoot any issues with Chassis OEM s, customers, and the plant traffic personnel.
- Work with Morgan proprietary drive away portal and phone app and Morgan IT dept/ developers to enhance and review upgrades.
- Develop and update Standard Work Instructions for chassis check in and dispatch delivery to customers.
- Updating chassis due dates either via EDI reporting, CSV or Excel worksheets.
- Maintain relationships and add new drive away companies, work to ensure rates are compatible and in line with industry / Morgan standards. This will require working closely with risk management.
- Assist in reviewing Unidentified Chassis Report daily and updating full Vin # to sales orders, and communicating updates or changes needed with traffic and or sales.
- Review chassis on ground report status codes to ensure chassis are moving through J.D. Edwards to scheduling/ production.
- Work with the traffic and sales teams at each facility on the day-to-day challenges that need resolved quickly.
- Assist in coordinating re-directing chassis & customer-supplied materials from one plant to another plant in an effort to improve our delivery time to the customer.
- Updates to JDE as adjusted chassis due dates.
- Work closely with IT to test and qualify updates and enhancements to J. D. Edwards and the drive away portal.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Credentials:
- BS/BA degree in business or related field
- 5 years experience in manufacturing/chassis
- Understanding of functional aspects of the supply chain in manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of MPS/MRP systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. and reporting
Preferred Credentials:
- APICS Certification
- J.D. Edwards experience a plus
You Must Be Able to:
- Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.
