Position Summary May provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Supervises, teaches, and delegates to other personnel in the performance of activities related to nursing care. Supervises daily staff activities during the assigned shift. In the absence of the directors and administration they provide over site of the facility services
Required Licenses Registered Nurse
Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a Current Registered Nurse Licensure with a multistate compact status.
Minimum Work Experience Experienced as a staffed nurse required. Critical care experience preferred.
Required Certifications - Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
- Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
- Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale obtained (or) within 90 days after hire date.
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Essential Functions Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with
performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
May provide patient care when necessary.
