ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an Orthopedic Operating Room Nurse Manager who desires to be part of a dedicated team providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care in a patient-centered environment where quality and safety are paramount and where clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, teaching and innovation drive our efforts, functioning within the framework for professional nursing practice.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
Key areas of responsibility:
- In collaboration with Director, establishes, develops, and maintains effective relationships, working agreements and quality partnership to secure resources to support patient care and to assure compliance with current regulatory requirements and perioperative protocols, policies, best practices.
- Fosters a culture of intradepartmental teamwork and respect
- Creates an enhanced coaching atmosphere which is necessary for shared governance to be implemented throughout perioperative services
- Provides clinical leadership through role modeling professional practice behaviors and maintains role accountabilities at the level of an advancer RN
- Assesses staff performance against objectives; coaches, mentors, develops and evaluates employees to achieve behaviors aligned with the organization's vision, mission and values, in a continuous learning environment
- Seeks and utilizes information (including research findings) and system in order to optimize quality, best practice, and cost containment
- Works collaboratively with Director to develop, implement and manage a budget which supports the institutions objectives
Qualifications
• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license required.
• Bachelor's degree required. * Master's degree preferred. One degree must be in Nursing.
• Certification in nursing administration is required within 5 years of assuming position.
• Minimum 5 years relevant clinical experience, to include OR experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Demonstrated progressive leadership skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
