Partnering with the Corporate Director of Finance, you'll lead financial analysis, build and maintain essential financial reports, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and post adjusting journal entries.
Prepare and/or review intercompany invoices.
Verify the accuracy of accounts payable invoices entered by the Staff Accountant and post accounts payable invoices to the general ledger.
Complete tasks related to the daily income audit, including sales tax reconciliations, food and beverage outlet reconciliations, and reviewing/posting daily report activity.
Prepare and/or review bi-weekly payroll processing, payroll journal entries, and related reconciliations.
Perform month-end closing tasks, including verifying the accuracy of month-end inventories, ensuring that occupancy and sales tax are balanced monthly, preparing monthly accounts receivable invoices, and posting monthly accruals.
Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and related schedules for assigned entities.
Prepare and/or review monthly sales, use, and occupancy tax filings.
Assist with researching and resolving account variances.
Assist with providing comprehensive training to all hotel managers and staff to ensure all accounting policies and procedures are being properly adhered to.
Assist with establishing, documenting, and maintaining standard accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for finance and accounting operations.
Complete daily bank deposits as a backup to the Staff Accountant.
Work with the Corporate Director of Finance on budgeting and year-end audit requests.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in accounting required.
Prior work experience in the lodging industry is a plus, but not required.
Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite, and experience with property management and/or account reconciliation software is a plus.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with onsite and offsite stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Work independently with little direction.
