Major Drilling is looking for a self-motivated and organized HR Assistant for our office in Salt Lake City. The successful candidate must have professional appearance, positive attitude, be dependable and eager to learn.
Compensation will depend on experience.
This is a full-time position; 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality related to recruiting, training, and Human Resource issues.
- Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, supervisory reports on performance, and terminations.
- Enter new hire information in the human resource databases (ADP).
- Ensure that human resource files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- Assist with recruitment and hiring activities.
- Assist with benefits administration.
- Complete employee verification forms.
- Complete background verifications for applicants.
- Coordinate with coworkers and outside vendors to ensure success in administering HR programs.
- Provide administrative support for department personnel including file upkeep of Personnel, I-9, EEO, and Medical Files.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must also have the following:
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated reliability in attendance and task completion.
- Willingness to assist with miscellaneous projects as needed.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail; and
- Ability to multi-task.
