- Conduct basic wound assessments, including measurement and staging.
- Good understanding of underlying factors impairing wound healing (e.g. chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease, diabetic neuropathy, etc.) to facilitate patient education in their disease process and treatment.
- Monitor wound progress and response to treatment, and report same to NP.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and signs of wound deterioration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, physical therapists, and nutritionists, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe, clean environment for wound care procedures.
- Stay informed about best practices in wound care management through continuing education and professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing wound care services and patient satisfaction.
- Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned Wound clinic patients, as directed by the Wound Clinician (NP, PA, DO, MD) and/or Director of Nursing, to facilitate the delivery of prompt, quality care.
- Completes all required documentation in the electronic health record accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN), licensed in the state of California.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in wound care nursing (WCC, CWOCN, or equivalent) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in wound care nursing is requiredRewards:
