Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a critical role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history and treatment plans
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in dental technology and attend continuing education courses as required
Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Aseptic technique knowledge and experience
- Familiarity with medical documentation, including knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Previous experience working in a dental office setting required
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, medical imaging, and medical coding
