PURPOSE: Complex parts on CNC Machining Centers.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
Indicate vises for alignment each week
Calibrate probes each week
Indicate and calibrate tool measurement arms as needed
Load/unload tools in tool magazine and Tool Data page
Program and set up complex parts
Read blue print then verify and check parts to print dimensions as machined
Performs in process checks of parts so that adjustments can be made before a nonconformance occurs or a large number of parts are machined out of specifications.
Monitors quality, makes tool changes and adjustments as required.
Check the accuracy of your measurement tools to the company standards
Cleans and inspects equipment to avoid breakdowns
Keeps work area clean and neat and complies with all safety standards
Observe the machines during the machining process to verify correct speeds and feeds and for machine potential malfunctions
Lay out, measure and mark materials
Fit and assemble parts as per instructions or to print using hand tools and machinery
Fabricate and modify/repair machine parts.
Must also be able to fabricate, modify or repair machine parts.
Study blueprints, sketches or drawings, and engineering information to determine the best methods and sequences to produce parts
Select proper materials, machines and tools to manufacture parts as required.
Program G and M codes and Mazatrol
Read prints confer with engineers, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel about technical information to produce the best quality parts.
Design set up fixtures, specialty tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
Offline programing including Camware, up to Mastercam, and Esprit
Troubleshooting & unhang tool changing arm without assistants
Optional: Multi Axis CNC Machine
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience
4 years CNC Machinist experience or Machine Tool Technology diploma/certificate and 2 years of CNC Machinist experience
Must be able to operate a variety of machines (CNC machine, manual lathes, manual milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, key seaters and layout tools) to produce precision machine parts to print specifications.
Advanced measurement skills (mics, calipers, indicators, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of feeds and speeds
Complex blue print reading skills
Be able to do shop mathematics including trigonometry
